NSCD Winter 2008-09 Job Openings

Adapted Ski and Snowboard Instructor
The NSCD is currently accepting applications for adapted ski and snowboard instructors for the Winter 2008-09 season. This seasonal position begins November 10, 2008 and ends April 5, 2009 with an hourly wage range from $11 to $12 DOE. Instructors teach skiing and/or snowboarding to individuals with disabilities, assist with the instruction involved in the weekly, special, and sit ski programs and also present or assist in the presentation of volunteer training clinics.

Qualified applicants must have at least a PSIA or AASI Level I certification at the time of hire or obtain it by February 7, 2009 (scholarship help available), and have a background in working with people with special needs, teaching, or the instruction of ski/snowboard lessons.

Customer Relations Representative
The NSCD is currently accepting applications for customer relations representatives for the Winter 2008-09 season. This seasonal position begins November 17, 2008 (also one required training day on November 10, 2008), and ends April 19, 2009 with an hourly wage range from $10 to $11.50 DOE. This position acts as a front line receptionist while performing other daily duties such as answer telephone calls; make reservations; sell tickets; answer routine questions; prepare invoices, registration materials and informational mailings; maintain files and records and perform data entry.

Qualified applicants must have computer skills and customer service experience.

Seasonal Ski Program Coordinator
The NSCD is currently accepting applications for adapted ski and snowboard program coordinators for the Winter 2008-09 season. This seasonal position begins November 10, 2008 and ends April 19, 2009 with an hourly wage range from $13 to $14 DOE. Coordinators oversee specific weekly winter programs including the on and off-hill supervision of volunteers assigned to programs; maintain student and group records, and assigns volunteer instructors to students. Coordinators also teach skiing or snowboarding lessons to individuals or small classes of people with disabilities on the days that they are not coordinating programs, present volunteer training clinics, and assist in other programs as needed.

Qualified applicants must at least hold a current PSIA or AASI Level II certification at the time of hire and have a background in working with people with special needs, teaching, or the instruction of ski/snowboard lessons.
