Join the NSCD for our adventurous multi-day camps in the beautiful Rocky Mountains to experience horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hiking, biking, indoor rock climbing, Winter Park resort activities and more all while making new friends. One of the main purposes of summer camp is to have fun participating in safely designed activities, appropriate for a wide-range of ability levels. Our uniquely designed camps utilize specific approaches that meat the needs of variety of individuals with special needs. Camps fill up quickly, so be sure to make reservations early.

Alpine Ski Race Camp for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
29th International Congress on Adapted Snowsports
Ready…Aim…Fire! This camp is all about concentration, focus, and centering ourselves. We will drill down on controlling our bodies while enhancing our ability to concentrate and achieve. This camp may include Shooting sports, Rock Climbing, Boxing, Dance, Yoga, Slackline, Progresh, and the NSCD Moves! Course. At the NSCD we believe that through the personal challenge, and enriching atmosphere of the outdoors participants can learn important lessons about themselves and others as well as increasing their overall fitness and quality of life.
Dates: January 2-6, 2018
Drop off: Mile High Stadium (1801 Mile High Stadium Circle in the upper part of Lot L) between 7:30am-8:00am
Pick up: Mile High Stadium (1801 Mile High Stadium Circle in the upper part of Lot L) between 4:00pm-5:00pm
Because a portion of these activities are outdoors, certain activities may need to be altered or locations changed due to weather and conditions. We will let you know of any program changes as soon as is possible.
Price: $400 per athlete
Imagine connecting with other veterans who share your desire to get out there and discover the freedom of the slopes. Join the NSCD for three nights of lodging, meals, 2 days of skiing or riding (including equipment rental, lift tickets and lessons) and evening activities. Transportation will be provided during the weekend between the lodge and resort. Free to qualifying veterans with disabilities. Must be independent and manage self-care or bring a care giver for assistance.

Price: Free to military Veterans with a disability. Space is limited by total number and types of accessibility needs.
Get an edge on the competition, meet new friends and strengthen your racing skills. Join the NSCD for this 3 day race camp for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Please call (970) 726-1518 for more information and to register.

Dates: February 17 – 19, 2018
Age: 5 and older
Rates: $225 per athlete
A 2.59% Forest Service fee will be added to all lessons on National Forest land
Includes: Coaching, race course access, equipment and lift ticket/trail pass
Alpine skiers with intellectual disabilities who already race or who aspire to join the circuit are invited to this exciting on-snow training camp hosted by NSCD at Timberline Ski Area on spectacular Mt. Hood in Oregon. The fun six-day/seven-night session will provide the opportunity for participants to increase their skill levels on skis and in the course, engage in social activities with other participants and coaches and learn more about applying these skills to their daily lives. Daily schedules include meals together, morning on-snow ski sessions, afternoon off-snow group activities and early evening gatherings. Participants must be independent in daily living skills, be able to safely ski blue rated terrain using parallel turns and be able to participate in group activities. A special on-snow and indoor training hosted by NSCD at Timberline Ski Area on spectacular Mt. Hood in Oregon that draws professional and volunteer instructors of all levels from across the USA and world to ski and ride, laugh and learn. Session topics include alpine skiing, race coaching, snowboarding, adaptive disciplines and much more. Limited registration of 24 participants provides an opportunity to meet new people, learn about different programs, policies, techniques and return home with valuable contacts in the adapted snowsports industry.
