Attention high school juniors and seniors - you can become an NSCD Junior Volunteer Ski Instructor!
In the process, you will:
- Complete community service hours required for high school graduation;
- Gain viable work experience for your college resume;
- Learn about the professional world of teaching, adaptive or therapeutic recreation, rehabilitation services, volunteer management, special education and other areas;
- Support the NSCD volunteer instructor system;
- Be a mentor to program participants.
Requirements for Junior Instructor Program participation:
- Applicant must be between 16 and 18 years of age and currently attending high school;
- Be interested and willing to assist individuals who have disabilities;
- Posses at least intermediate skiing or snowboarding skills;
- Possess personal skiing or riding equipment that is in good condition.
