Give Back, Gain Experience, Become a Junior Volunteer Instructor

Attention high school juniors and seniors - you can become an NSCD Junior Volunteer Ski Instructor!

In the process, you will:

  • Complete community service hours required for high school graduation;
  • Gain viable work experience for your college resume;
  • Learn about the professional world of teaching, adaptive or therapeutic recreation, rehabilitation services, volunteer management, special education and other areas;
  • Support the NSCD volunteer instructor system;
  • Be a mentor to program participants.

Requirements for Junior Instructor Program participation:

  • Applicant must be between 16 and 18 years of age and currently attending high school;
  • Be interested and willing to assist individuals who have disabilities;
  • Posses at least intermediate skiing or snowboarding skills;
  • Possess personal skiing or riding equipment that is in good condition.
