Winter Program Internship
This internship offers real-world experience across a variety of adaptive sports and recreational therapy settings. Interns commit to 560 hours over 14 weeks under the supervision of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), meeting all NCTRC requirements along the way.
The program is non-clinical and community-based, centered around Alpine and Nordic skiing, with additional opportunities in snowboarding, ski biking, sit skiing, snowshoeing, and other mountain sports. All required training and equipment provided.
Interns will:
- Conduct assessments and create treatment plans
- Lead individual and group activities
- Complete documentation and make goal-based recommendations
- Work on administrative tasks such as program planning and customer service
You’ll gain direct experience with participants of all ages and a wide range of diagnoses, developing valuable skills in adaptive recreation and therapeutic programming.
Location: Winter Park, CO
Duration: Late December-April
Housing: Available plus a $300/month stipend
