NSCD President & CEO Julie Taulman Named a 2026 Denver Business Journal Outstanding Women in Business Honoree

DENVER (Aug. 11, 2026) – The National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) announced today its President & CEO Julie Taulman has been named a 2026 Denver Business Journal Outstanding Women in Business honoree. Taulman was honored at an awards celebration on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

“I am honored to be recognized alongside so many extraordinary women who are shaping Denver’s business and nonprofit communities,” said Taulman. “This award reflects the work of the entire NSCD team, our board, volunteers, donors, and partners who make it possible for people of all abilities to experience the confidence, connection, and joy that adaptive recreation can provide in our beautiful state.”

Taulman was recognized for her more than two decades of leadership in adaptive recreation and her work to expand access to outdoor experiences for individuals with disabilities. Under Taulman’s leadership, NSCD has advanced major milestones, including opening the Front Range Adaptive Program Center at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, introducing the adaptive mountain biking program, increasing scholarship support and strengthening long-term financial sustainability. She has also elevated NSCD’s role as a global training hub through the NSCD Competition Center, which has produced more than 200 Paralympians. In 2026, 13 NSCD-trained athletes were selected to compete in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games.

The recognition also follows a year of significant organizational achievements for NSCD, including the 50th Annual Wells Fargo Ski Cup, which raised $930,000 for NSCD programming, launching a new custom registration and donor system and the organization’s 2025 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Advancing DEIA in Tourism, awarded by the Colorado Tourism Office.
