Program Instructor – Adaptive Horseback Riding (Seasonal)

Open until filled — don’t wait to apply!

At the National Sports Center for the Disabled, your instruction helps participants discover confidence, independence, and joy through the unique connection between people and horses.

As a Program Instructor for Adaptive Horseback Riding, you’ll lead therapeutic riding lessons and equine-assisted recreation programs for individuals with disabilities. You’ll work directly with participants, volunteers, and horses to create meaningful experiences that help riders build skills, achieve goals, and gain confidence both in and out of the saddle. From leading lessons and supporting volunteers to caring for horses and maintaining program facilities, you’ll play a vital role in creating impactful experiences that advance the NSCD mission to #RethinkAbility.

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Program Instructor provides adaptive horseback riding instruction for individuals and groups, supports therapeutic recreation programming, supervises volunteers, and assists with the daily operation and maintenance of the equestrian program. This includes participant instruction, lesson planning, horse and facility care, documentation, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all riders.

If you’re passionate about horses and excited to help people discover what’s possible through adaptive recreation, we’d love to have you on our team.
