Recreational Programs Director
The Recreational Programs Director is responsible for the development, operation and sales of year-round programs based in the Front Range, Winter Park and Grand County areas. This position is an integral part of developing and cultivating relationships to form strong industry alliances, partnerships and opportunities. A fundamental duty of this position is the alignment of recreational programs with the brand focus and the creation and implementation of sustainable program plans. The Director must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace with both attention to detail and global picture of the organization. The Recreational Programs Director will collaborate with all Directors/staff to share resources, develop, schedules and implement programming.

NSCD interns transform lives!
The NSCD offers internships in therapeutic recreation, recreation management, experiential education and sports/non-profit management.
College students and developing professionals are encouraged to apply. Interns must currently be enrolled in a University with affiliated coursework; recent graduates or experienced professionals are eligible for the concurrent fieldwork program following the intern application process. The NSCD can customize an internship to meet university requirements.

The Winter Park internship program is in Grand County, Colorado. Interns will be under the direct supervision of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and meet all NCTRC requirements. Non- CTRS candidates who can commit to 560 hours over 14 weeks are also encouraged to apply.
We are an adaptive recreation and sports organization (not a clinical setting), similar to community-based programs.
Interns will receive training and participate in the following programs: paddle sports, therapeutic horseback riding, white water rafting, hiking and a variety of other adventure-based activities.
Interns will have the opportunity to review participant files, assess, develop treatment plans and programming, lead individual and group activities, complete documentation, and make goal-related recommendations.
This internship is fast paced and provides the opportunity to be hands on with participants of all ages and diagnoses.
Location: Winter Park, CO
Duration: May-September, specific dates can be planned around University requirements.
Housing: Provided
Overview: Programming is adaptive adventure-based: including rafting, canoeing, camping, resort activities and therapeutic horseback riding.

Summer Program Internship Description

The Winter Park internship program is in Grand County, Colorado. Interns will be under the direct supervision of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist and meet all NCTRC requirements. Non- CTRS candidates who can commit to 560 hours over 14 weeks are also encouraged to apply.
We are an adaptive recreation and sports organization (not a clinical setting), similar to community-based programs.
This internship program is primarily focused on alpine and Nordic skiing; other opportunities may include Paralympic athlete training, snowshoeing, curling, sled hockey, and additional mountain adventure sports. We will provide training for all required activities.
Interns will have the opportunity to review participant files, assess, develop treatment plans and programming, lead individual and group activities, complete documentation, and make goal-related recommendations.
This internship is fast paced and provides the opportunity to be hands on with participants of all ages and diagnoses.
Location: Winter Park, CO
Duration: Late December-April. Specific dates can be planned around University requirements.

Adaptive Sports / Programming Internships and Application Information

The NSCD is an adaptive recreation and sports organization (not a clinical setting). Program internships are based off programming that operates year-round, based out of Denver, Colorado. Programming is adventure-based recreation, sports leagues, clinics and camps located in the Denver Metro area. Program internships are supervised by the Program Director. Non-CTRS applicants are encouraged to apply.
Interns have the opportunity to have a tremendous amount of hands-on interactions with participants. This very active internship is focused on water sports, lakefront days, multi-day camps and sport specific clinics without a lot of downtime.
Interns will have the opportunity to review client files, assess, develop treatment plans and programming, train and lead group activities, complete progress notes and make goal-related recommendations.
