Military members with a disability, active or Veteran, are welcome at all NSCD programs. Below are programs specifically designed for veterans or programs that have special pricing for military. Participants must be independent and manage self-care or bring a care-giver to provide assistance.

Military Appreciation Days

Get out, have fun, and connect with fellow military members—all for FREE! Enjoy indoor and outdoor rock climbing, disc golf, and lake activities. These action-packed adventure days are a perfect way to stay active, try something new, and enjoy the outdoors—at no cost to you.

Military members must register in advance to participate.  

* Individuals are responsible for their own park entry fees, Disabled Veteran license plates allow free entry into state parks. Individuals are responsible for their own fishing license and bring the license with them to participate.

Military Adventure Camp

Get ready for four unforgettable days in the Rockies. This 4-day, 3-night adventure camp brings together military members—active duty or Veterans—with disabilities for an action-packed experience in the outdoors. Participants will take on mountain biking, hiking, whitewater rafting, and a relaxing lake day, all while connecting with fellow Veterans and exploring Colorado’s incredible mountain landscape.

Transportation from Denver, lodging, and meals are included, so you can focus on the adventure. Space is limited to 12 participants.

*Participants must be independent in their personal care and meet basic essential eligibility criteria to register.

Military Alpine – Monthly Day Trips

The NSCD Is excited to appreciate our military members with FREE Monthly Alpine Ski trips! Available to all Veteran and Active-Duty Military service members with a disability! Transportation to and from Denver area, Equipment, Lift ticket, and lesson included! All of our military programs are underwritten through generous grants and contributions. There is a $25 registration fee for these day trips.

Pick up/Drop off Available at: Jefferson County Fairgrounds

Participants who are not independent in self-care must supply a personal care provider who is available to them throughout the length of the day. 

*$25 non-refundable registration fee will be due upon reservation. All other expenses are generously underwritten by grants and contributions.

Military Nordic/Fat Tire Bike – Monthly Day Trips

The NSCD is excited to appreciate our military members with FREE monthly Nordic Ski and Fat Tire Bike trips! These full-day adventures include a half day of Nordic skiing and a half day of Fat Tire biking, designed for Veterans and Active-Duty Military service members with a disability. Transportation from the Denver area, equipment, and lessons are included. All of our military programs are underwritten through generous grants and contributions. There is a $25 registration fee for these day trips.

*Please note: while we offer sit Nordic options, we do not currently have sit or hand Fat Tire cycles available.

Military Winter Camp

This four day camp highlights alpine skiing for military members, active or Veteran, with disabilities! Transportation from Denver, lodging and food provided. Meeting and dinner on Friday. Skiing Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning. All of our military programs are underwritten through generous grants and contributions. There is a $25 registration fee for camps.

Participants who are not independent in self-care must supply a personal care provider who is available to them throughout the length of the camp.
