Military members, active or Veteran, are welcome at all NSCD programs. Below are programs specifically designed for veterans or programs that have special pricing for military. Participants must be independent and manage self-care or bring a care-giver to provide assistance.

Military Mountain Biking

Military members can find adventure on a wide variety of cross country mountain biking trails! With a brand new fleet of fat tire and off-road recumbent mountain bikes and trained instructors, the NSCD offers opportunities for all levels — whether you’re a beginner or an experienced biker. We have a variety of hand and leg power assist adaptive cycling options and a fleet of traditional fat tire bike for off-road adventures. Our instructors help you choose the bike that fits your individual needs and will provide an adventurous experience.

Military Clear Creek Raft Experience

Join our team of white water guides on a fast passed paddle adventure on Clear Creek. With your paddle, your boat will traverse Class III rapids as you descend from Idaho Springs down to the top of Clear Creek Canyon!

Military Colorado River Rafting Experience

Experience the thrill of rafting the Upper Colorado River with the NSCD Military Veteran Program! Join fellow veterans on an unforgettable adventure, navigating exhilarating rapids and taking in stunning scenery. This program offers camaraderie, excitement, and the chance to conquer challenges together, creating lasting memories and empowering moments on the river.

Military Appreciation Days

Join fellow military members every Friday for a day of outdoor adventure and recreation. Adventures include indoor and outdoor climbing, flat water and white water paddling, air gun, and archery.

* Individuals are responsible for their own park entry fees, Disabled Veteran license plates allow free entry into state parks. Individuals are responsible for their own fishing license and bring the license with them to participate.

Military Chill Camp

Relax and rejuvenate during this 4-day, 3-night getaway in the Colorado mountains. Activities include rafting, fly fishing, hiking, and archery for military members, active or Veteran, with disabilities! Transportation from Denver, lodging and food provided. Space is limited to 12 participants. Participants must be independent in their own care and meet basic essential criteria to register for the camp.

*$25 non-refundable registration fee will be due upon reservation. All other expenses are generously underwritten by grants and contributions.

Military Adventure Camp

Join us for a 3-day, 2-night whitewater rafting and camping adventure on the Upper Colorado River. This raft trip is for military members, active or Veteran, with disabilities! Transportation from Denver, equipment, camping and food provided. Space is limited to 12 participants. Participants must be independent in their own care and meet basic essential criteria to register for the camp. Family Lake Day Fun

Join us for a fun Lake Day! NSCD will provide kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddle boards. Enjoy the sun on your face, smell of burgers on the grill, and relax on the lake. Friends and family welcome, but must register separately, $30/person for family or friends.

Military Winter Ski Camp

This four day camp highlights alpine skiing for military members, active or Veteran, with disabilities! Transportation from Denver, lodging and food provided. Meeting and dinner on Friday. Skiing Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning.

Ski and Snowboard Programs for Military

This activity is for military members, active or Veteran, of any age who have a disability and want to learn or improve ski or snowboard skills.

Programs Include: One all-day alpine ski, snowboard or Nordic lesson, lift ticket and equipment

Lesson Types Include: Sit Ski, Ski Bike, Slider, Stand Ski, and Snowboard
