Experience the magic of camping! Camp under a star-filled sky, roast marshmallows over a campfire and enjoy our accessible campground at the foot of majestic James Peak. Camping is free, but a reservation is required with the NSCD for the Jim Creek Campground. Permit area is located in the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest.

Jim Creek Campground is a quarter mile hike-in experience with no direct vehicle access. There are no RV accessible campsites. There is a vault toilet and pets are allowed at the campsite; however, Jim Creek Campground does not have running water or a trash service and all trash must be removed by campers. Camping is permitted on designated platforms. Please check the Grand County website for the most current information on campfires.

Hosted Camping

If you wish to receive assistance during your camping experience, hosted camping is for you! We will set up camp, prepare meals and clean up. Space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Rental equipment is available. Participants must be independent and manage self-care or bring a care-giver to provide assistance.

Jim Creek Campground is OPEN from June 10, 2024 – September 23, 2024

Price: $205.18 per staff person, plus 3% USFS Fee.

This price includes set up, cooking dinner, returning to cook breakfast, and tear down.
Participants must provide their own food for NSCD to cook

Equipment Rental Available: $20 per tent; $5 per sleeping pad; $10 per sleeping bag; $15 per stove

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• If renting equipment, camp will be set-up at 3 pm. If campers have their own equipment, we will meet participants at Jim Creek Campground at 3pm.
• Cooking dinner is available from 5 – 8pm.
• Cooking breakfast is available from 6 – 8am.
• We will begin camp tear down at 11 am.
